Winning Some, Losing Some
We all make compromises.
Say for instance, a workday morning when you step out from your house and wait for a trike, and in a minute of waiting, nothing comes. You then walk to the end of the block to get your ride because you want to save time. You have in your two hands your computer, your bag, your phone and the rest of your abubots and a coat. You get too much sun and you expose yourself to all live perils like passing cars, dogs branded by Cesar Millan as those in great panic, dog poo, and the sleazy stares from sanitary technicians, drivers and topless workers wearing their boxers on the street for fun. So you got to the end of the block, hailed a trike, you got poured over the wheat field and poof! You became KokoCrunch! What a way to burn calories, you tell yourself.
This happens five days a week, you make those daily sacrifices and it eventually develops into a habit. You do it because you have to in order to make your life easy. You get more sleep (or you wake up late) because you know it is faster to walk than to just wait at your front door for a ride. You wear something apt for walking because you don’t want to power-dress and get unnecessary attention. When your friends visit you, you tell them it’s better to walk a few hundred meters because vacant trikes hardly come by. It is all good.
There are days, however, when you have so much to bring to work, or you have a back ache, or when rain is pouring, or when you have new shoes, or when you are too hungry to walk straight, or when you had a late night that your eyes are too puffy for public viewing, or just when you basically think of why you would have to walk again. Then you remember, that the reason why you chose the house in the first place is because accessible transportation is right outside your gate. #

It’s normal for people to daydream. So when I dream about my Beyonce self, I also daydream of making our paths cross, no matter how impossible the situation is. I love you, Babe. Thank you for being my Valentine. :)
